Prestine 1967 48' Tripp Designed Hinckley Sloop
Overview
This classic 1967 William Tripp designed Hinckley sloop is a true gem, new to the market. Refit in 2019, with an upgraded B+G electronics package, new standing and running rigging coupled with a bow thruster and in boom furling main, 'Northeast Wind' is a turn key coastal and inland cruiser with a special history. As only 1 of 2 sloop rigs produced in this series of hulls from Hinkley, 'Northeast Wind' is a very versatile platform that has extensive cruising background built by one of the premier builders in the US. A great overnight cruiser and family vessel as well as a competitive racer, 'Northeast Wind' is a sailors delight.
Key features:
Retractible centerboard - Whether you prefer inland cruising or offshore, heavy air conditions, 'Northeast Winds' can accommodate both. At 5' full retracted, shallow cruising grounds are no problem while also overnight anchorages easy to handle. Conversely, if you are looking to race on Sunday's you can extend the board to 12', giving you max pointing potential and stability.
Interior accommodations: As only Hinkley can do, a blend of classic and modern styles below create a warm atmosphere without a lot of fuss. The galley, saloon, and chart table are all within a few small steps from one another with plenty of storage throughout. Perfectly maintained by the current owner, custom bar stools and pocket table leafs are smartly placed. The aft quarters hosts a cockpit passthrough and full head, double berth to port and single to stbd. Forward V berth has ample closet, storage, and a few items that are custom Hinkley.
Sail Plan: All lines lead aft is the name of the game on 'Northeast Wind' as all lines run to the deep well cockpit. Custom new standing and running rigging by Easom Racing in 2019 coupled with an electric in boom main furling system means the vessel preforms with ease, reliability, and is at the beginning of its life cycle.
Custom Canvas: All new custom dodger, bimini, and removable cockpit shade installed 2019. Viewing ports on the aft bimini and dodger ensure ease of visibility, wind protection, and safety. While at anchor, raise the cockpit shade to beat the midday heat. Lastly, one-inch diameter handrails guide you as you move between the cockpit and main deck safely.
Safety: Full deck length stanchions and lifelines, custom main boom safety break, fire suppression system, individual bilge pumps, master center bilge hang driven pump. Thoughtful consideration to the avid and recreational boater alike.
Relocation: Vessel can be relocated back to east coast via land or sea (sea transport out of Ensenada MX.
